Planning for the fall semester? Check campus parking off of your list. Beginning July 22 at 10 a.m., you can sign up for a fall 2025 parking contract.

Living in University housing? Wait until you have your housing assignment (around July 31). You will be guaranteed a space by your residence hall.
Improvements to contracts
Student parking contracts now follow a fixed semester schedule. If you sign up before September 2, your contract will begin on the first day of the semester–and you’ll also receive two bonus weeks of free courtesy parking starting August 18 to help you settle in early. All student parking contracts will end on December 18.
- If you complete the form before September 2: Your student parking contract will begin on the first day of the semester, September 2. You will be given courtesy (free) parking beginning on August 18.
- If you complete the form on or after September 2: Your student parking contract will begin two business days after submitting the form. The cost will be prorated by day.
- Cancelling a contract: You may cancel a student parking contract online any time after September 2. You will receive a prorated refund of parking fees to the day.
Cost
The cost of a student parking contract is charged by facility type. The charges below are effective for the Fall 2025 semester:
- Lot: $307.40
- Ramp: $405.73
- Garage: $526.84
Consider alternative transportation
Your Universal Transit Pass is a great way to get to and from campus, and is included in eligible students’ tuition. Campus Connectors and Circulators also provide free transit around the Twin Cities campus. Finally, consider an active commuting method like cycling to power your commute.

What’s changing with student parking contracts?
Student parking contracts are now pay-by-semester. This means:
- Contracts have fixed start and end dates.
- All contracts for the fall semester will end on December 18.
- Contracts do not have custom start or end dates.
When does my parking contract start?
- If you complete the form before September 2: Your student parking contract will begin on the first day of the semester, September 2. You will be given courtesy (free) parking beginning on August 18.
- If you complete the form on or after September 2: Your student parking contract will begin two business days after submitting the form. The cost will be prorated by day.
Can I choose a later start date?
No. If you want your contract to begin later in the semester, wait to submit the form until closer to your desired start date. Your contract will start 2 business days after you submit the form.
Note: Some parking locations may fill up, so waiting could limit your options.
Can I cancel my contract?
Yes. You can cancel your contract any time after September 2 through the online system. You’ll receive a prorated refund based on the cancellation date.
What are the key dates to remember?
- August 18: Courtesy parking begins (for early sign-ups).
- September 2: Semester begins; contracts start for early sign-ups.
- December 18: All contracts end.
