Transit
On campus
The Twin Cities campus offers 6 fixed transit routes and accessible paratransit service, all at no cost to riders. Route details and schedule information are available at transit.umn.edu. The University also offers Gopher Chauffeur, a free after-hours ride home program.
Off campus
Bus-only freeway lanes and ramp meter bypasses can make your commute even faster. Several bus lines operate in the Twin Cities metro, and many have direct routes to the U.
Additionally, the METRO Green Line travels down Washington Avenue through the heart of the East Bank campus. The METRO Blue Line offers individuals quick and easy access to key destinations like the airport and the Mall of America. The Northstar Commuter Rail also provides convenience for those from the northwest corner of the suburbs.
Metro Mobility is also available for certified riders who cannot use regular fixed-route buses due to a disability or health condition.
