Accessibility

The University provides designated disability parking spaces throughout campus. A state-issued disability certificate or license plate is required.

Contract parking facilities

If you require an accessible parking space and are a current University student, faculty, or staff member, contact the Disability Resource Center (DRC). The DRC works directly with our office to ensure that reasonable accommodations are met. Current contract rates apply.

Public parking facilities

Disability parking spaces designated with signs can be found in all public/visitor parking facilities. Public/visitor and event parking rates apply.

Meters

University meters are free for a maximum of three (3) hours if a state disability permit or license plate is properly displayed.

  • After three hours, meter patrons must relocate their vehicle a minimum of 600 feet from the original parking space.
  • Posted time restrictions apply at some locations.
  • City of Minneapolis and Park Board meters may have different requirements.

On-street parking

On-street locations designated by signs are free for a maximum of three hours if a state permit or license plate is properly displayed. The three-hour time limit is waived after 4:30 p.m. weekdays and all day on weekends.
