Deck cleaning is scheduled in various campus parking structures. Areas will be closed overnight for cleaning. You may need to park on a different level than usual in your assigned ramp/garage if you plan to stay in the facility past 7 p.m.
Signage will be posted in advance of any closures. You can also view the cleaning schedule below.
21st Ave. S will be closed between 5th St. S and the 21st Ave. Ramp exit on Saturday, May 2 between 3–9:30 p.m. for an event.
Please use caution in the area and be prepared to detour using Riverside Ave., 20th Ave. S, and 4th St. S.
The new Route 126 will get you between Minneapolis and St. Paul even faster with fewer stops.
Transit will operate with reduced service during Thanksgiving Break.
The 10th Avenue Bridge connecting West Bank and Dinkytown will be closed from 9 a.m.–12 p.m.
Vehicular traffic should use I-35W to avoid the closure.
The northbound lane of the 10th Avenue Bridge will be available for bikes and pedestrians during the closure.
Cedar Avenue will be closed between Riverside Avenue and 3rd Street.
Pleasant Street SE and Arlington Street SE will be closed this Friday and Saturday, September 12–13, as roads are repaved after the completion of the Fraser Hall project. This is expected to be the final closure for the project.
Arlington Street SE will be closed between East River Road Parkway and Pleasant Street SE. Pleasant Street SE will be closed at Arlington Street SE. As a consequence of the closure, Westbound Washington Avenue will be closed over the bridge.
People who drive should plan to use the marked detour over the 10th Avenue bridge between Riverside Avenue on West Bank and University Avenue on East Bank. Expect increased traffic during the closure.
People who walk or bike may continue to use the marked pathways within the closure area.
If you travel on northbound I-35W in Minneapolis and on I-94 between Minneapolis and St. Paul, you will need to plan your route in advance and give yourself additional time to reach your destination starting Sept. 2.
Beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Tue, Sept. 2, the ramp from northbound I-35W to eastbound I-94 will be closed until Fri, Sept. 26. Both directions of I-94 will also be reduced to three lanes between I-35W and Huron Blvd. during this time.
You can bypass the ramp closure using northbound I-35W, eastbound Hwy 36, southbound I-35E and I-94.
These closures are necessary to allow crews to remove the crossovers that shifted traffic during construction on I-94.
All I-94 lanes and ramps within the project area will be open for the winter. However, you can expect periodic lane closures in spring 2026 when crews apply a deck sealant to the restored bridges.
