East Bank Road Closures This Weekend

Metro Transit will be conducting maintenance on Green Line corridor infrastructure on the East Bank of the Twin Cities Campus this weekend. 

Metro Transit will be conducting maintenance on Green Line corridor infrastructure on the East Bank of the Twin Cities Campus this weekend. Maintenance is scheduled for: 

Thursday, July 11 at 8:00 p.m.–Monday, July 15 at 4:00 a.m. 

  • Washington Avenue closed to all vehicle traffic between Walnut Street SE and West Bank 
  • Washington Avenue closed to bikes between Harvard Street SE and Church Street 
  • Pleasant Street SE will be closed after Arlington Street SE 
  • Light rail trains will be shut down between East Bank and West Bank stops 
  • The top-level of the Washington Avenue Bridge remains open to non-motorized traffic

Friday, July 12 

  • Oak Street at Washington Avenue will be closed to vehicle, bike, and pedestrian crossing 

Transit impacts 

The University Ave Circulator will not run. The Campus Connector will be running an adapted route which follows the regular UAC route from Carlson to the Rec Center. Campus Connector buses will run between the St. Paul Student Center and Carlson School, departing every 10 minutes, 7:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. 

The following stops will be closed: 

  • Blegen Hall 
  • Coffman Memorial Union 
  • Bruininks Hall 
  • Ridder Arena 
  • Jones/Eddy 
  • Willey Hall 
  • Northrop Mall 
  • Fay Thompson moved across the street to the Stadium bus stop 
  • McNamara
