Upcoming I-94 Closure and Traffic Shift
I–94 will be closed June 13–16 between I–35W and Huron Blvd. with traffic shifting to the westbound side after. Some ramps near campus will be closed.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation’s I-94 Bridge Project will go into its next phase beginning June 13. This will include a major weekend closure followed by traffic shifts and additional ramp closures. Here’s what you need to know:
June 13–16
- I-94 will be fully closed in both directions between I-35W and Huron Boulevard in Minneapolis.
- Closure will begin at 9 p.m. on Friday, June 13 and last through approximately 5 a.m. on Monday, June 16.
June 16–August
- All traffic on I-94 will use the westbound side of the freeway, each having two lanes.
- Ramp closures near campus include:
- Huron Boulevard to eastbound I-94 on East Bank.
- Eastbound I-94 to Huron Boulevard on East Bank.
- Riverside Avenue to eastbound I-94 on West Bank.
- Cedar Avenue to eastbound I-94 on West Bank.
