Major I-94 Construction Begins April 4

Impacts consist of a full closure over the weekend and ongoing lane and ramp closures.

Map detailing bridge work areas described in the post

The Minnesota Department of Transportation is working to maintain bridges over I-94 in Minneapolis. This work will require closures and will begin on April 4. Initial impacts:

  • Weekend of April 4: I-94 eastbound will be fully closed between 11th Avenue South and Franklin Avenue SE
  • Monday, April 7 through Mid-May:
    • I-94 will be reduced to 2 lanes in each direction
    • The entrance ramps to I-94 from Huron Boulevard on East Bank will be closed. Follow signed detours

The Minnesota Department of Transportation advises that this will cause major disruptions to traffic. Please use alternative routes if possible.
