Hwy 280 Ongoing Closures

MnDOT will resurface Hwy 280 from I-94 to Hwy 36/I-35W, repair bridges, repair and resurface ramps, repair drainage and make additional improvements. 

During the MN-280 construction period, campus bound traffic from the north should take Cleveland Avenue from I-35W/MN-36 or exit at Raymond Avenue from I-94 if coming from the south.

Timeline

All traffic impacts are tentative and weather dependent.

Road closures

5 a.m. Mon, April 13 through late August

• Northbound Hwy 280 is closed between I-94 and Hwy 36/I-35W
  • Northbound detour: I-35W or I-94 to I-35E to Hwy 36 (PNG)
  • Northbound Hwy 280 will reopen before the beginning of the State Fair in late August

Late April through late August 

• Southbound Hwy 280 is closed between Hwy 36/I-35W and I-94
  • Southbound detour: Hwy 36 to I-35E to I-94 (PNG)
  • Southbound Hwy 280 will reopen before the beginning of the State Fair in late August

Ramp closures 

5 a.m. Mon, April 13 through late August

• The ramp from I-94 to University Ave. is closed

Late April through late August 

• The ramp from Franklin Ave. to I-94 is closed
