Westbound I-94 closed for repairs this weekend from I-35E to Hwy 280 in St. Paul

Beginning at 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, the westbound lanes of I-94 will close between I-35E and Highway 280 in St. Paul through 5 a.m. Mon, Sept. 9, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation. There will also be no access to the westbound interstate through the project area.

The closure will allow multiple MnDOT maintenance crews to:

  • inspect and repair bridge decks,
  • clean and repair storm sewer drainage structures,
  • remove vegetation,
  • repair and replace lighting and
  • remove graffiti on bridges and walls.

During the westbound I-94 closure, motorists will detour north on I-35E, west on Highway 36 and south on Highway 280.
