Union Street Closed This Month
Union Street SE will be closed to pedestrians, bikes, and vehicles while it is reconstructed from July 15, through August 2.
August 2 update
The Union Street construction project outside of the Washington Avenue Ramp has been delayed due to unforeseen circumstances. Here is what you need to know (dates are weather-dependent):
Entrances
- Through Tuesday, August 6: Continue to use the contract entrance.
- Beginning Wednesday, August 7: The main entrance will open to traffic. Note there will be a brief interruption on Friday, August 9 as Union Street is painted.
- Beginning Monday, August 12: The contract only entrance and exit will be closed as internal ramp construction is completed.
Reserved stall contracts
- Reserved stalls will remain closed as internal ramp construction is completed.
- Reserved stall contract holders will be refunded the reserved stall fee for the remaining duration of the closure.
Reciprocal parking
- If you signed up for reciprocal parking during construction, you may continue to park in your alternate location through Sunday, August 11.
Lot 25
- Lot 25 will return to normal operation at 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 7. Note there will be a brief interruption on Friday, August 9 as Union Street is painted.

Union Street SE will be closed to pedestrians, bikes, and vehicles while it is reconstructed from July 15, through August 2.
- The public entrance to Washington Avenue Ramp is closed and all traffic will enter through the contract entrance. Expect delays when entering.
- Lot 25 is closed, and all contract holders should park in the Washington Avenue Ramp. If you experience issues entering with your U Card, pull an entry ticket and press “Help” when you exit.
- If you applied for and received special reciprocal parking, please park in your chosen location using your U Card.
- If you will be parking in the Washington Avenue Ramp, please remember to have your U Card ready in case the license plate reader does not accurately read your plate. Expect delays when entering.
