Upcoming 14th and 18th Avenue at Fourth Street Closures

As part of the Fourth Street construction project we shared earlier this month, please be aware of two upcoming road closures: 

  • A portion of 18th Avenue SE between Fourth Street SE and University Avenue SE 
  • 14th Avenue SE between Fourth Street SE and University Avenue SE will be restricted to Southbound traffic only 

During this time, buildings in the affected closure areas and Lot 58 in the map below will only be accessible from University Avenue SE. Thank you for your patience as construction continues.

Upcoming Gopher Lot Construction

An upcoming construction project at the Gopher Lot will affect parking arrangements. We will begin adding additional lanes to the Gopher Lot and merging it with Lot 2. After construction, Lot 2 will no longer exist, and all contracts for Lot 2 will be converted to Gopher Lot contracts. 

Union Street Closed This Month

Union Street SE will be closed to pedestrians, bikes, and vehicles while it is reconstructed from July 15, through August 2. 

East Bank Road Closures This Weekend

Metro Transit will be conducting maintenance on Green Line corridor infrastructure on the East Bank of the Twin Cities Campus this weekend. 

July Sixth Street Construction

The north vehicle and bike lanes of Sixth Street will be closed Thursday, July 11 through Wednesday, July 31 for maintenance.

Parking Interruption: Washington Avenue Ramp Construction

Beginning on June 17, Washington Avenue Ramp and the surrounding area will be undergoing maintenance. Traffic impacts are expected.

Advisory: Metro Transit Service Changes Begin June 15

On Saturday, June 15, Metro Transit will make changes to transit service throughout the metro. Quarterly service changes adapt and adjust the service based on current and projected ridership and the available resources and driver workforce. 

Advisory: MVTA Service Changes Begin June 3

Routes that serve the University of Minnesota will reduce trip frequency for the summer months but will restore trips when the U of M resumes classes in the fall. 

ALERT: Pleasant Street Closure in June

From Monday, June 3 through Wednesday, July 10, Pleasant Street SE between Arlington Street and the Washington Avenue Bridge will be closed to all vehicle traffic. Additionally, the Washington Avenue Bridge will be closed to westbound vehicles.
