Metro Mobility

General Information

Metro Mobility is a shared ride public transportation service for certified riders who are unable to use regular fixed-route buses due to a disability or health condition. Program information and an application form can be found on the Metropolitan Council website or by calling 651-602-1111 (TTY 651-221-9886).

Once certified, University students, faculty and staff can purchase discounted fares. Call 612-626-7275 for more information and to pay for fares.

Have the Universal or Employee Transit Pass?

To ensure that University students and employees who are also certified MM users are provided with equitable service levels and cost, Parking & Transportation Services manages this program for MM rides for eligible Universal Transit Pass (UTP) and Employee Transit Pass (ETP) holders.

To participate in the program, you must:

  • Be eligible for and activate your UTP/ETP
  • Be eligible for and certified with Metro Mobility
  • Complete this form

You will need to provide your Employee ID and MiFare number. Both are located on the back of your U Card. Visit the U Card Help Center for additional information.

Once eligibility is determined, a value of $80 will be loaded onto your U Card as stored value to use on your Metro Mobility trips. Please email buspass@umn.edu when you are getting low on funds ($20 or less).

If you need assistance completing this form, please email buspass@umn.edu or call 612-626-7275.
