Gopher Bike Library
Borrow a bike for the term or the year!
Gopher Bikes is a convenient full-service program to help you get around campus. Bicycles are available on a first-come, first-served basis as available. Participants get a bicycle, a bike helmet, a combination U-lock. Rental period ends on the last day of instruction for the semester/summer term. Study and final exam days are not included unless prearranged.

Pickup and Return Dates
Fall 2023 - Pickup starting: September 11 , 2023 at 10 a.m.
- Return due date: December 13, 2023 at 5 p.m.
Spring 2023 - Pickup starting: March 12, 2024 at 1 p.m. (start of 2nd 7-week session)
- Return due date: April 29, 2024 at 5 p.m.
Summer 2024 - Pickup starting: May 13, 2024 at 1 p.m.
- Return due date: August 23, 2024 at 5 p.m.
How to get one
- Sign up with this link.
- Wait for the program participation email.
- Visit the PTS office and sign the agreement to get your bike.
Gopher Bike rentals are subject to these Terms and Conditions.
How to return
- Return and lock bike at the Gopher Bike rack located along Walnut Street outside the University Avenue Ramp.
- Email biking@umn.edu with the return date and bike number within 24hrs.
