University Avenue Reduced to One Lane Between 13th Avenue and Oak Street
University Avenue will be reduced to one vehicle lane between 13th Avenue SE and Oak Street SE with closures on Pleasant Street SE and Church Street SE beginning May 19.
University Avenue will be reduced to one vehicle lane between 13th Avenue SE and Oak Street SE with closures on Pleasant Street SE and Church Street SE beginning May 19 through the summer. Please plan for increased travel times due to construction impacts, including:
- University Avenue will be reduced to one lane between 13th Avenue SE and Oak Street SE.
- The southbound lane from University Avenue will be closed on Pleasant Street.
- Church Street SE will be closed at University Avenue.
Pleasant Street SE closure
Pleasant Street SE will be closed in the southbound direction (toward Pillsbury Drive SE). Vehicles will still be able to continue northbound to 15th Avenue SE, turn right onto University Avenue SE, or turn left from 15th Avenue SE onto University Avenue SE.
Church Street closure
Church Street will be closed in both directions just south of University Avenue SE. Traffic will not be allowed through.
Nolte Center and Armory Garage contracts must approach from the south using Pillsbury Drive and Church Street to gain access.
Access to Church Street and Northrop Auditorium Garages is unaffected, contract holders may continue to enter as usual but must detour around the Church Street closure.
Transit impacts
121–Campus Connector
The westbound Campus Connector will pass 15th Avenue SE and turn left onto 14th Avenue SE, then left on Pillsbury Drive SE. The bus stop at Jones-Eddy Circle will be closed and replaced with a stop on Pillsbury Drive SE at Pleasant Street SE. (Left side of above map)
May 19–approximately June 13, the eastbound Campus Connector will turn right on Beacon Street SE from Oak Street SE to avoid intersection construction for about 3 weeks. It will then turn left onto Ontario Street SE and right onto University Avenue SE to continue its regular route. The Oak Street SE at University Avenue SE stop will move to Ontario Street SE at University Avenue SE. 122–University Avenue Circulator
The 122/University Avenue Circulator will operate its summer schedule on detour, taking 10th Avenue SE north to 5th Street SE, east on 5th Street to Oak Street, and south on Oak Street to Superblock. On 5th Street SE, the bus will stop at 11th Avenue SE, 13th Avenue SE, 15th Avenue SE, and between Ridder Arena and 3M Arena at Mariucci.
