Part-Time Parking Changes Start on January 13
The program will be restructured to better fit the original goal of providing part-time parking to those who are on campus for 1–2 days per week.
The following changes will be in effect beginning January 13, 2025.
What's Changing?
- Online Sign-Up: You can now sign up for the PTP program exclusively online.
- Purchase Limit: There is a maximum of two purchases per semester.
- Repurchasing: PTP packages can be purchased at any time, you do not need to reach 0 uses to repurchase.
- Package Availability: The 10-day package will no longer be available. The program is designed to cover a full semester's worth of parking, which the 10-day option did not adequately provide.
- Refunds Available: If you leave the University or purchase a full-time parking contract, any remaining PTP balance can be refunded.
Eligibility
- University of Minnesota faculty, staff, and graduate/professional students with a 95xx job code are eligible for the PTP.
- Any existing active parking contracts must be canceled before purchasing the PTP program.
Cost
- 16 days: $144.00
- 32 days: $288.00
Alternative Options
- Full-time and night-only parking contracts remain available to faculty and staff and are charged via payroll deduction on a pre-tax basis.
- The Employee Transit Pass is a low-cost or free option for all benefit-eligible employees who are over 50% time.
- Active Mobility and Biking is a great way to improve overall health while saving money on your commute, with the added benefit of increased sustainability.
