Lot 37 and 5th St. Closed

Lot 37 will be closed for the summer beginning Tuesday, May 19 to install overhead solar panels. You can view other public parking facilities on the East Bank on the Parking & Transportation Services website.

The solar array in Lot 37 is estimated to produce about 2,750,000 kWh of electricity annually — while the generated power will be used for campus electricity needs, that’s enough to power 260 average homes!

5th Street closure

Beginning on Tuesday, May 26, 5th St. SE will be closed between SE 17th Ave. and SE Oak St. for the installation of a new crosswalk. The closure is expected to last through mid-June.

• 3M Arena at Mariucci’s loading dock will only be accessible from the east.
• Landcare’s facility will only be accessible from the west.

While 5th St. SE is closed, use 4th St. SE and University Ave. SE to detour.

Note: The original 5th Street closure date was changed from May 19 to May 26.
