Features
- Unlimited transit rides on all regular route bus lines and light rail – 24/7
- Additional fare may be needed for Northstar #888
- Stored value MUST be added to Metropass to cover the difference in fare between the $3.25 that Metropass covers and the actual fare price
- Without stored value added to Metropass, the reader will not accept Metropass and the rider has to pay full fare

- Valid until you cancel
- Passholder qualifies for the Guaranteed Ride Home program
- University employee Metropass is payroll-deducted, pre-tax. Rate is $83 per month
- Breakeven point would be about 37 rides per month (18 round trips)
Payment
- Cost is $83 per month
- Charges are deducted from your paycheck on a pre-tax basis Contract Payment Schedule (in some cases, pass holders will be billed for their pass on a quarterly basis)

Handout of Faculty/Staff Parking & Transit Options
Eligibility — Staff/faculty must:
- Be on the University of Minnesota payroll
- Work at least 20 hours a week
- Possess a valid U Card
Pick-up
Passes can be picked up at the PTS main office (Room 300, Transportation & Safety Building, 511 Washington Avenue SE) or mailed. You’ll be notified via e-mail when the pass is ready.
Damaged, Lost or Stolen Passes
Fill out the online form to obtain a replacement pass. You will receive an e-mail when it is ready. Replacements can be picked up at the PTS main office (Transportation & Safety Building, 511 Washington Avenue SE, 3rd floor).
Customers requesting a replacement for a lost or stolen pass will be assessed a $7 fee. Damaged passes will be exchanged for a new one. If you have questions, call 612-626-7275 or e-mail buspass@umn.edu.
How to Cancel a Bus Pass
Cancellation — Passes can be cancelled at any time.
You may receive a prorated refund for service not consumed about 4-6 weeks after cancellation.
If you cancel, you must wait 30 days before you are eligible again.
Payroll deductions will continue until we receive a bus pass email cancellation. If you leave the University without emailing that cancellation, you will be billed for its street value until the contract is terminated in our system.
