Fraser Hall Project Impacts - Arlington East River Parkway Update
Thursday, September 7, 2023 - 10:29

Updated: 10/2/2023

Underground utility work at the Fraser Hall construction site has closed portions of East River Parkway and Arlington Street. This project was initially expected to end on September 29. The final phase of the Arlington Street/East River Parkway construction and related traffic impacts has been extended due to weather.

Paving of the East River Parkway and Arlington Street is underway. We anticipate that this will be completed by 5:00 p.m. today. This means that:

  • Arlington Street will continue to be closed to through traffic until 5 pm today.
  • East River Parkway will be closed through 5:00 p.m. today, which may impact your evening commute. Please plan accordingly.
  • Metro Transit Route 3 will stay on detour until the area is reopened.

Use alternate routes. Completion timelines are subject to change.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.

The University of Minnesota - Twin Cities campus has once again been named one of the top places in the country to ride a bike, according to the League of American Bicyclists, a grassroots advocacy organization encouraging better bicycling and protecting the rights of people who bike.

The iconic green Nice Ride bikes will not return to University of Minnesota campus streets this year. Students, staff and visitors will still have plenty of bike share choices. Other providers will fill in the gaps.
