Construction Work Impacts Gortner, Cleveland, Rollins Avenues

Upcoming traffic impacts and road closures that have been communicated to PTS are below.  As these are construction impacts, they are subject to change and weather dependent.
  • St. Paul:  Starting Monday, May 23 and continuing into mid-June, Gortner Avenue will be closed between Buford Avenue and Buford Place roadways for MCPF project utility work.
  • St. Paul:  The existing Buford Place roadway closure between Gortner Avenue and Field Road will continue into November 2022 for MCPF project utility work.
  • St. Paul:  Cleveland Avenue will be closed between Como and Buford Avenues from June into Fall 2022.  A signed detour will be in place using Larpenteur Avenue, Highway 280 and Energy Park Drive.  The Cleveland Avenue and Buford Avenue intersection will remain open.  For additional information, see the project webpage.
  • Minneapolis: Wednesday, May 25, Rollins Avenue will be closed westbound (heading towards 15th Avenue SE) between 17th and 15th Avenues SE.  The detour will be via Highway 280 and Como Avenue SE.  The street will be open eastbound (heading towards Child Development Laboratory School and Elm Street SE).  Emergency vehicles will still be able to get through.

East River Road Closed Sunday June 19 Morning

On Sunday, June 19 from approximately 9 a.m. - 11 a.m., East River Road will be closed to vehicles between University Avenue SE and Arlington Street SE for the Star Tribune Ugly Tie 5K race.

PTS Office Hours Reduced For Summer

Spring Brings Back Shared Bike & Scooter Program

Warm weather brings new travel options for the University of Minnesota’s Twin Cities campus. The University has entered into license agreements with three operators —Lyft, Lime, and Spin — to operate a Shared Bike and Scooter Program.

Mask Requirement on Buses Ended April 18

As of April 18, 2022, federal orders requiring masks on transit have ended. As a result, the University of Minnesota no longer requires face coverings while riding University fixed transit and the paratransit service. Riders may choose to continue to wear a mask.
